ANDY’S

My Principles

These are my guiding principles for life….BUT….they are always subject to change. As I age, the more I learn, the more I understand, the more I am able to distill things down, so I give myself permission to upgrade these as I see fit. I hope they inspire you to write down your own principles to guide you through life. Enjoy!

  1. Always Act In Such A Manner That YOU Would Be Proud Of Yourself
Just as if your parents would be proud of you or you would be proud of how your child behaved. This is the standard to be met.

  2. No One Has All The Answers And Neither Do You
Do not trust anyone that says they do. (especially religions or politicians) Everyone has specialized knowledge that you can learn from but no one has all the answers or knows what happens after this life.

  3. Grow Everyday
No day is promised. Use each day to learn just a little bit more, grow as a person and be just a little bit better.

  4. Your Sole Job Is To Be Andy
You are not your job, a title or a cliche. You can have many identities inside of you but there is only one of you. Be the best version of yourself.

  5. You Are Meant To Experience All Emotions
Make sure you feel them.  You don’t have to let them control you but it is ok to feel them when you need to.  Trying to be happy all the time robs you of a full human experience.

  6. Accept What You Can’t Control
Sometimes things happen that make no sense and that you will never have an answer for. Shoulda, woulda, couldas won’t change things.

  7. Do Not Waste Time
You need to enjoy the journey. Only suffer for things that are worth it.
Do not suffer things you don’t enjoy for too long.

  8. Real Relationships Are The Only Ones Worth Your Energy
Only give your personal energy to people that will hold space and show up for you “no questions asked” because you would do the same for them. “Deal relationships” are fine to have but not where your fulfillment comes from.

  9. Take Action
Follow a strict decision making process but do not hesitate or be fearful to make a decision. Go after what you want.

  10. Follow Your Curiosity
Never stop exploring what interests you. It’s led you to the tops of mountains, to the bottom of the sea, to personal and professional adventures and to the most wonderful people you have ever met.

  11. You Belong In Nature
You are part of nature and find peace whenever you’re in it. Prioritize spending time in “the awe”
